Installed the Attack Blue Air Filter

I got a couple parts in last week including the Attack Blue Air Filter. I ordered it from TKO Performance. I was planning installing the Extreme Online Rear Diffuser fins first, but it was raining and I didn’t have enough room in my garage to work on the rear of the car without moving the front half of it into the rain. So I decided to tackle the air filter first. Here’s a video on how to install it:

Extreme Online Store Splash Guards

I purchased a set of Splash Guards from Extreme Online Store and put them on this weekend. I like how they add just a subtle improvement to the overall looks of the car.

The installation was dead simple. Just remove one screw under the car next to each wheel well. The old splash guards pop out easily. The new ones require just a bit of a closed fish smack on each tab on the splash guard.

Replaced almost all the fluids

I took my car to the dealership for a service that, frankly, everyone should do when they buy a used car. I know the other dealership changed the oil, but I’m pretty sure they didn’t change any of the other fluids. So yesterday, I got the following work done:

  • Rear Diff fluid replaced
  • Brake fluid replaced
  • Fuel Injection System cleaned

They were going to replace the air filter, but called and said they weren’t going to have it until today and I could leave the car overnight. I declined. I wound up ordering an air filter on my own. I’ll talk about that when it comes to my house.

Wireless CarPlay

When I picked up my car last week, I brought along a USB to USB-C cable to connect my phone to the car’s USB port. But when I hooked it up, it seemed to work fine, but then after a couple of minutes, the phone would lose power and CarPlay would disconnect. I would wiggle the cord or disconnect it from my phone and try again. It would connect again but after a few minutes, it would disconnect.

First mod on my Vette

I thought owning a Jeep was going to be expensive, but I never really got into the Jeep mods. Other than upgrading the suspension with a small 2.5" lift and adding 35" tires, I never did any other mods to it. I’ve now had it 16 years and it has 128,000 miles on it.

Anyway, back on topic. I purchased my first part for the Vette this week. It just arrived today and it took about five minutes to install. It’s the Direct Fit Phone Mount from Course Motorsports.

The Corvette is home

We stopped by Rick Hendrick Chevrolet on Saturday afternoon on our way home from Washington, DC. I wound up buying the car but couldn’t bring it home yet as it was in the service area awaiting new tires.

I got the call yesterday morning that the car was ready. Melissa and I drove back up to Richmond yesterday afternoon in rush hour traffic to get it.

I enjoyed the trip home in it, stopping off at Pierce’s BBQ in Williamsburg before finally getting home around 9pm last night.
