Installed the Attack Blue Air Filter
I got a couple parts in last week including the Attack Blue Air Filter. I ordered it from TKO Performance. I was planning installing the Extreme Online Rear Diffuser fins first, but it was raining and I didn’t have enough room in my garage to work on the rear of the car without moving the front half of it into the rain. So I decided to tackle the air filter first. Here’s a video on how to install it:
The installation was pretty straight forward. I removed the old air filter box and replaced it with the new one. The only tricky part was getting the air filter itself in place. It took a few tries to get it right, but it’s in there now. I’m not sure if I’ll notice any difference in performance, but it claims to add about 10 horsepower. I wish I had recorded the engine sounds before and after, but I didn’t.
We finally had sun on Sunday so we took it out for a few hours and removed the top. I will definitely need to bring sun screen for future trips with the top off.
I took it out again yesterday and tried to do some 0-60 runs but I couldn’t figure out how to get Launch Control set up correctly. I made the mistake of asking ChatGPT and it told me to use the PTM to specify which mode I wanted. But I never saw that. I did hit the Traction Control button twice, but I think I turned off both Traction Control and Stabilitrak. I wish I had recorded some video of the car when I released the brake, because I laid down some serious rubber for about 25 yards. I’m sure my tires were smoking.
When I got back home, I looked at a few videos and this video explained what exactly was happening:
Because I don’t have the Magnetic Ride Control, I don’t get the various modes of Wet, Dry, etc. I only have Stabilitrak and Competitive Mode.
So we’ll try again soon. And maybe I’ll remember to include the GoPro next time!
